KELLY BERTELL ROBERT Age 84, of Cecil, died peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in his home. He was born July 20, 1934 in Oakdale, son of the late William and Nellie Martin Kelly. Mr. Kelly was a Pvt. 1st class in the US Army. He was a member of White Eagles, and VFW 191 both in Canonsburg, Muse Italian Club, and Westland Sportsmen's Club. He was an avid hunter and ?sherman. His happiest times were spent with his grandchildren. Early in his work years he was a Police of?cer in Oakdale, then worked at Dravo Corp. in Pittsburgh, shipbuilding and retired as a steam?tter foreman at Woodville State Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Gossett Kelly; a daughter, Kelly (Chris) Marshall of Cecil; grandchildren, Logan and Lylah Marshall of Cecil; two sisters, Patty (Bob) Lewis and Virginia Owens; and a brother, Dick (Marylou) Kelly all of Oakdale; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; three sisters, Eleanor Pettibon, Nancy Harbison, and Ann Hennon; and two brothers, David and Bill Kelly. DOBAY KAROLY "KARL" JOHN Age 79, of Economy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 23, 1939; son of the late Charles and Anna Irene Dobay; beloved husband to Jean Dobay, whom he married on Dec. 27, 1986; loving father of Dennis, David, Dr. Karoly, Dr. Kristin Dobay, Karla Pitts, Kari Kryszak, David Madden, Maryann Ryan, and Kyle Dobay; proud grandpa of 18; and dear brother of Veronica Javens. Karl loved most any sport. He was a star team member on Sharon High School's undefeated football and baseball teams. He loved playing golf and won the Seniors championship at Connoquenessing Country Club. Karl was the ?rst in his family to graduate from college (Lafayette University) and one of the ?rst metallurgists to receive an MBA (Penn State University). Shortly after graduation, Karl accepted a top secret position with RCA where he worked on the famous Missile Man Project. In 1986, he started his own company selling metalworking oils and lubricants which is still operational today. Karl loved people and people loved him. He especially loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was great at remembering names, conversations and would always make a point of following up with people who were having dif?cult times. He had a great sense of humor, loved to jitter bug and play cards. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. FOGLE JOHN 72 of Monroeville, formerly of Harmarville, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019. He was born October 25, 1946 to his parents, the late Joseph and Helen Maryanski Fogle. Mr. Fogle was drafted after High School and served in The U.S. Army. After his discharge, he attended Alderson Broaddus University where he received his bachelor's degree and later worked for Seton Hill University as the Athletic Director for 40 plus years where he eventually retired. John was of the Catholic faith and a former member of St. Bernadette Parish. John had a passion for Elvis Presley, as he and his family cherished his collection of records and memorabilia. John had a love of gardening and took great pride in keeping his home and yard beautiful. John, better known as “Coach”, inspired his players using soccer as a metaphor for life. He also especially enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach with his children and grandchildren to relax on the beach and enjoy the ocean. Surviving him are his loving wife of 43 years Jo Ann Polito Fogle; son's J.J. Fogle of Monroeville, and Jason (Elizabeth) Fogle of Monroeville; daughter Jamie (Rick) McGee of Butler; ?ve grandchildren, Gracie, Paisley Belle, Gunner, Scarlett and Savannah; besides his parents, John was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Robert Fogle; and two sisters, Martha Sheppard and Jo Ann Harlow. KACSMAR MARY (KONIK) Age 91, on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Southwestern Nursing Care. She had battled Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease for the last several years. Mary was born January 1, 1928 in Homestead, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Sophia Konik. She had an older brother, Stephen Banik, who gave his life in World War II. On August 2, 1948, Mary married Michael Kacsmar Jr., who died on February 15, 1968; survived by her son, Michael (Beverly) Kacsmar of Monroeville, and her daughter, Linda Kacsmar of Homestead; grandmother of Michael (Marina) Kacsmar of DuBois, David Kacsmar of West Mif?in, and Scott Kacsmar of Homestead;   great- grandmother of Genesis and Selma Kacsmar of DuBois.   The family wishes to thank Southwestern nursing staff for their care and support to Mary since August 2016.   Mary loved to cook and bake, especially during the holidays.   She was a devout Catholic and fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams.   While she lived all 91 of her years in western Pennsylvania, she loved family vacations to Florida.   A private service will be held at SAVOLSKIS- WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., and interment will be at St. Elias Cemetery in West Mifflin.   In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions are made to the Parkinson's Foundation www.parkinson.org/w ays-to-give www.swgfuneralhome.com   Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb

HAYWOOD MARY LOUISE Age 67, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in her home. She was born January 24, 1952 in McKeesport, the daughter of Joseph and Adeste Gilmore Boehm. Mary was a graduate of West Mif?in South High School, class of 1970. She was a member of the Library Baptist Church where she was active in the living Christmas tree, preparing meals for shut-ins and their Bible studies. She also held a membership in the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 205, Monessen. Mary looked forward to running every year in Pittsburgh's Great Race and also in Uniontown at the Summit Challenge, where she was the 1st place winner several times in her age bracket. Mary always thought of others before herself and that was quite evident when she donated her hair three times to Locks of Love and Wigs for Kids. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, loved to cook and bake, especially her coconut cream pies and enjoyed singing. She was the kindest person and never had an unkind word to say to anyone. Mary loved her Lord and was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Mark M. Haywood with whom she celebrated forty ?ve years of marriage on November 23, 2018; two daughters, Lori McKown and husband Brian of Finleyville, Beverly Rutkowski and husband Stephen of Russell; son, Mark M. Haywood, Jr. and wife Sangeetha of Aliquippa; seven grandchildren, Caitlin and Michael McKown, Matthew and Madison Rutkowski, Anish Mark, George Eugene and William Abednego Haywood; brother, Joseph Boehm and wife Andrea of South Park; three sisters, Deborah Finney and husband Barry of White Oak, Cathy Krebs and husband James of West Mif?in, Lisa Sipple and husband Curtis of Wexford. ROZUM MAX , SR . Age 94, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side. His wife, the late Dorothy Makitka passed away October 2014, two weeks after her and Max celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary. Max was born February 15, 1925 and so his early formative years were during the heart of the Great Depression. His legacy can best be described by the song, Like a Rock, by Bob Seger, he never gave up and always did everything he could to help those that asked or needed it. On his birthday in 1942, he tried to join the U.S. Army, several months after Pearl Harbor but he was underage and couldn't without his parent's consent. He didn't give up on his desire to join his friends and the war effort, and on his birthday in 1943, he joined the U.S. Army. In May 1944, he had orders to ship out to England, but a day before shipping out he was pulled aside for Army Engineering training. Years later it was learned that the troop he trained with that did go to England were the ?rst to hit the beaches of Normandy on the 6th   of June 1944.   A few months later, he ?ew to France and participated in the war effort.   He was severely wounded in Ardennes Counteroffensive (Battle of the Bulge) on December 19, 1944. His contribution to the war effort earned him a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.   Max retired as an electrician from J&L Steel in Pittsburgh after 34 years of service.   He was an active leader in his church, St. Peter & Paul, Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Carnegie; he is survived by his Daughter, Sandy Rozum; her children, Maureen, Allison, and Patrick (with Lauren and their child David); his son Max Rozum Jr and his wife, Carol and their children, Mark (his wife Amy and their children Renee and Lindsey), Erin Rakoci (her husband Brian and their children, Paityn and Lydia), Dana Wood (and her husband Jim), and Alex (and his future wife Lauryn Michaels), and his son Jim, his wife Irene and their children, Natalie Turicik (her husband Louis and their child So?a), Corinna, and Kristie; he is also survived by sisters Rosemary Preuss (Chuck) and MaryAnn Putz (Kurt); as well as several brother and sister-in-laws; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.   His legacy to his family and friends will be that he was   Like A Rock, one who could always be counted on to help out, and to provide not only what they needed, but what they wanted as much as he possibly could.   Family and friends will be received on Friday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at VLADIMIR S. She had an incredible life of joy, ful?llment, and fun-loving experiences for 81 years. Bara graduated from St. Peter Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She was the wife of the late Robert A.
